Only Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko has had more attempts on goal this season than Juan Arango.
"A big step out of the crisis"
It was the biggest surprise of matchday 11. Borussia Mönchengladbach won 3-2 against Hamburger SV, inflicting the Bundesliga Dinosaur's first Bundesliga defeat of the season.

One man who played a major role in the Foals' away victory was striker Juan Arango. The Venezuelan teed up Rob Friend for the all-important winner with a superb cross.

Indeed, Arango has become an integral part of the Borussia team, his powerful left-foot strikes are now a feature of coach Michael Frontzeck's attacking arsenal.

bundesliga.de caught up with Arango following the victory in Hamburg to discuss the result, the general situation at Gladbach and his first few months in the Bundesliga.

bundesliga.de: Mr Arango, not many people expected a Borussia Mönchengladbach victory in Hamburg. You must be delighted with the 3-2 win...

Juan Arango: Oh yes, we certainly are. The whole team put in a great performance - and that despite the fact that we went behind twice. We were lacking a bit of organisation at that point, but we fought hard and managed to turn the game.

bundesliga.de: Was it a deserved victory?

Arango: It was certainly a tight game, but we didn't show them too much respect and created several chances, mostly on the counter. In the second half Hamburg went for the win with the scores poised at 2-2, but we had luck on our side and got the decisive goal.

bundesliga.de: What do the three points mean for Borussia?

Arango: It was a big step out of the crisis for us, but there are still many games left to play and we can't relax just yet. We need to keep working hard and build on the performance in Hamburg.

bundesliga.de: Your coach Michael Frontzeck has remained particularly calm despite some worrying recent results...

Arango: The coach has always believed in us, even when the results haven't gone our way, and that's important. We didn't play badly against Wolfsburg or Köln but we just couldn't get a result.

bundesliga.de: How would you sum up your first few months in the Bundesliga?

Arango: I feel very settled at Borussia. Of course I still have to get used to the German game, but that's normal after five years in Spain. Things are improving with every match.
