The 2009/10 season is now eight matches old. Several new signings have played their first few matches for their new clubs and some have already made a considerable impact. Time to take a look at which ones have impressed us the most...

After one of the most drawn out transfer sagas of the summer, Werder Bremen finally got their top target from Premier League side Chelsea. The Peruvian striker has already scored five goals in six league matches so far this season and a total of ten goals in 11 competitive appearances. Pizarro is the most dangerous Bundesliga player in the air, having notched three already this term. With 122 Bundesliga goals over the course of his career, he is the highest scoring active player in the league.

Ze Roberto (Hamburger SV)
The Brazilian has already scored four goals for Hamburg and set up another two - making him Hamburg's top attacking threat this term. Ze Roberto has scored two from long range, a record bettered only by Wolfsburg's Misimovic with three. With 63 per cent of his challenges won, the defensive midfielder has the best tackling ratio of any other Hamburg player.

Sami Hyypiä (Bayer Leverkusen)
The Finnish defender is the new marshall at the back for Leverkusen - he has touched the ball more than any of his team-mates with 583 in total. Hyypiä has also played more passes than anyone else in the team with 428. He has played in every minute of Leverkusen's eight matches so far and is the third highest in terms in defensive clearances in the league with 56 - one of the main reasons Bayer have kept five clean sheets this term.
